Still Life: Artist Reference Da Vinci
This is a piece of work I completed in my sketch book. This piece is an artist reference and is about Leonardo Da Vinci. Da Vinci is an old master and his work really influenced in my final piece. Da Vinci gave me a clear idea of what I would like to do for my final piece. Da Vinci mostly uses skulls in his paintings which are very dull. However they are very affective as Da Vinci uses a neat style of painting which really shows the objects being 3D. To make this page look old I used a damp tea bag and simply whipped it over the paper to create a really rough and old looking page, which fits in well with the topic, being that Da Vinci's work is from many years ago. I Really like this page in my sketch book because it looks important as it is old and rugged. I think this piece is very successful as it gives lots of interesting information on the still life work of Da Vinci, and I also explain on this piece how Da Vinci can Influence me in the future. The part I most like about this page in my sketch book is the envelope in the bottom right corner. In this is some of Da Vinci's still life painting. I believe this is very clever as it makes Da Vinci's pieces feel really important and significant. Da Vinci uses lots of skulls in his work and this is what I have looked a lot at in art this year. I will definitely use the influence of Da Vinci in my final piece because of this reason. This page in my sketch book is really successful and very significant as it will definitely influence me and that is why this is one of my favourite pieces in my sketch book.
